Bank Laundry Assistant
Working as Bank Laundry Assistant in a Nursing/ Care Home setting you will work as a member of a team providing a first class laundry service for both residents and the home in a condition that would fall within the guidelines as set by the CQC and the management team in relation to Health and Safety.
Responsibilities include:
1. To collect laundry bags from the sluices at the start of your shift.
2. Sort washing loads, ensure all bedding towels and flannels are put on a separate hot wash and that soiled laundry is appropriately dealt with.
3. Dry clothes in tumble dryers and iron garments as required.
4. Carry out simple repairs when needed to garments.
5. Distribute clothing to resident’s rooms placing away in a tidy fashion making sure garments are returned no later then 36 hours after having been collected for washing.
6. To adhere to safe and best practice at all times, using the correct moving and handling procedures with any equipment that you may use.

Full on the job training is provided as required.
Previous experience in a care setting is useful but not essential.
